No Longer Maintained (October 1st, 2005)
I am no longer maintaining ApacheTop. It was a
simple tool created for a simple need to scratch a
small itch at a previous job I held; I'm not really
very interested in detailed realtime Apache log
analysis anymore, so for the time being, this
project is dead. Everyone hereby has my written
permission to pick up the project and do what you
like with it.
If you'd like to take over ownership of the
freshmeat project, or have this page redirect to
your own fork of the project, the first person to
mail me with such a request will take the honours.
(PS: your first job should probably be to fix the
outstanding security vulnerability)
About
ApacheTop was written because there are no other
realtime tools (that I could find) to display what
your Apache server is doing in a concise helpful
display.
Docs
There's a brief
README.
The supplied tarball should compile cleanly on
FreeBSD, because that's what I develop it in. I've
had reliable reports that it builds fine in Linux,
OpenBSD, Solaris, and Mac OS/X too.
Also available; the
TODO
directly from the archive, and a detailed
ChangeLog;
a briefer version is available as the
NEWS file.
Stuff
The most recent release is linked below. See the
INSTALL file on how to build, then the README on how
to run it. There's a
screenshot if
you want to see what it looks like. It's somewhat
out of date, but it'll give you an idea.
